Blue Star Antique Pavillion
This is a great place to stop and browse for all types of antiques.  The Pavilion is well organized, clean, and the staff is very helpful. It’s located on the Blue  Star Highway. Also, the local microbrewery is next door for refreshment after your stay!

Brewery
If you enjoy locally brewed beer and ale, you’ll enjoy a visit here. This microbrewery is a re-creation of an Irish pub.  Enjoy some good music and food while sampling the refreshments.

Crane Orchards
These orchards and an on-premises restaurant and bakery are located a short drive   outside Douglas and Saugatuck, and a fun way to spend an afternoon. Try the super, fresh home-made apple and cherry pies.

Douglas, Michigan Information
Douglas has its own unique shops and some restaurants that many enjoy. The Douglas library, across the street from the Old Schoolhouse, is especially nice and has a nice children’s area.

Fenn Valley Winery
This winery is also in Fennville, the same area as Crane Orchards. You could visit both on the same day. Enjoy the locally made wines where you can sample them in their tasting room.

Fishing, Bikes and Boats
Here is a spot in downtown Saugatuck that may be helpful if you wish to check on bike rentals, charter boats, or just to obtain fishing supplies and information.

Clearbrook Golf Club
Located at the fringe of Saugatuck, The Clearbrook Golf and Dining Club is open to the public and was rated 41/2 stars by Golf Digest in 2009. The Clearbrook restaurant is definitely worth an evening itself.

Ravines Golf Club
The Ravines Golf Club is a public golf facility and is also located just outside Saugatuck. The Ravines Golf Club is an Arnold Palmer signature Golf Course, and is rated 4 stars by Golf Digest magazine.

West Shore Golf Club
The West Shore Golf Club is located in Douglas, very near the “Solitude” cottage, and is one of the 10 oldest golf courses in Michigan.  

Green Market
You won’t want to miss this inviting and colorful outdoor summer market. You’ll enjoy the great selection of locally-grown or produced fruits, vegetables, breads, plants, flowers, and crafts. The Green Market takes place every Friday in the summer. It is located near the “Maisonette” cottage in the center of Saugatuck, at the Saugatuck Arts Center in downtown Saugatuck.

Harbor Duck Adventures Tour
Kids and adults of all ages enjoy this tour in an amphibious vehicle (combined boat and car), which provides a tour of Douglas and Saugatuck from interesting vantage points by both water and land. For many visitors, this is a pleasant and memorable way to become oriented to the area.

Running Rivers Kayak Rentals
If you’re interested in kayaking, this is the place for you to check out, located along the Kalamazoo River in Douglas.

Saugatuck Boat Cruises
Many who stay at either Maisonette or Solitude rave about the sunset tour along the water –a relaxing way to see the area!

Saugatuck Center for the Arts
Located in the center of downtown Saugatuck, very close to the “Maisonette” cottage, the Center is a truly dynamic venue offering a wide array of plays, music, films, art exhibits and many other activities.

Saugatuck-Douglas Historical Society
You’ll find this intimate museum worth visiting. It’s located near Mount Baldhead Park (with its infamous 282 steps). The museum exhibits provide a glimpse at the Saugatuck area’s unique history.

Saugatuck Dunes Park
The Saugatuck Dunes Park is a truly beautiful beach which offers many and varied hiking trails. Saugatuck Dunes Park is located a short drive away from Saugatuck and Douglas.

Saugatuck Dune Rides
Many enjoy the thrill of seeing the dunes on these Saugatuck Dune Rides.

Waterfront Film Festival
The Waterfront Film Festival is one of the finest film festivals in the entire country, and takes place in early June each year.  The films are shown in several venues throughout Saugatuck, and all are very close to the “Maisonette” cottage.
